Naturally, in larger food manufacturing facilities, run of the mill cleaning and sanitisation equipment simply won’t do. Our teams use specialised commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals designed especially for tackling larger tasks more efficiently and effectively. Whether this means manually scrubbing large vats or pressure cleaning hard to reach surfaces, our cleaning staff leave no stone unturned in ensuring that your facilities are left spick and span and that food manufacturing safety requirements are met.
To ensure all surfaces remain sanitary, we regularly conduct swab testing and APT testing across food manufacturing surfaces. We’ll clean air-conditioning filters whenever necessary to keep air clean for employees and minimise the potential for airborne contamination. Regular audits can be scheduled to ensure all cleaning criteria is being met, which is a good way to prepare for any unexpected health inspections.
Food safety depends on a consistent method, not just hard work. Every sanitation clean follows the same steps:
- Prepare. We arrive with the right equipment and protective clothing, empty scrap bins, wipe down walls and remove visible debris and scraps from equipment using hot water.
- Sweeping. Loose debris on the floor is swept into a pile for easy removal.
- Foaming. Walls, floors and equipment are covered in a food-safe foam cleaning product suited to your facility. We use Ecolab products and select the one best suited to the job.
- Scrub. All surfaces are thoroughly scrubbed to loosen any stuck food particles.
- Washing. Equipment and surfaces are rinsed with hot water until it runs clear, then checked with a torch to confirm all food residue has been removed.
- Sanitise. A sanitising solution is applied to equipment, ensuring full coverage and following the manufacturer’s guidelines. Once complete, we use ATP or swab testing to confirm surfaces are free from contaminants.
